i have known all week that it was going to rain today and yet i neglected//forgot/couldn't find time to plant the seeds before it arrived, so this morning i ran out with my rain boots + rain jacket on, pockets bursting with seed packets + labeled popsicle sticks, etc. and planted my tiny garden in the rain, so the seeds could soak in the moisture from the sky and swell and grow.
i was happy i did.
:::
//i just wanted to add this note. i tucked the seeds in tight, packing the soil with my small copper trowel (the copper fends off snails and slugs) in the off chance that we get hit by the the same sort of torrential downpour that visited us a few weeks ago, so the seeds wouldn't rise up and float away. i just snuck out to peek on them and they all seem to be doing fine. Phew! Temperatures all week range in the upper 50's and 60's, perfect for germinating, so we should be in good shape. it will be 2 or 3 months until harvest time. i've marked my calendar.
These are some awesome pics I love how they look vintage.

You are so on top of things to have planted seeds already. I need to do the same...

hi there,
im usually not that organized about it, but my son woke up one morning and insisted we plant things (it was 7 in the morning and i hadnt had my coffee yet, so i had to really dig deep to enjoy the whole thing). im glad i did because the front garden is pretty spectacular (neighbors drop by and make happy comments) and thats whats inspired me to get all my other containers planted. hopefully the things ive planted will do as well as the things he planted. i have my doubts though. im pretty sure he has magical fingers + garden abilities. ill have to ask him to help me look after everything from now on, i think.
have a lovely day,
