hi there. just a little something to get you through this busy time, which should really be a quiet, wintery, reflective, slow, hibernating time, but which is often just the opposite. but that's okay. have one of these, take a moment to enjoy some deep breaths and to appreciate who you are and everything that you are doing, which hopefully includes things like letting the children stand on tall chairs to "toss" tinsel onto the highest branches of the christmas tree and then watching them smile with absolute glee as it collects into a pile on the floor and then watching them scoop it up and do it all over again. ah, yes.
this is our latest favorite drink. have i posted about this before? oh my. probably, but i can't remember, so if i did, apologies all around, but it's certainly worth posting about again. it will fill you with energy, but not the overly caffeinated kind. the bursting-with-antioxidants kind. we've tried it out on several people now and it definitely works. we first discovered it at one of our waldorf school fairs. we went back several times for seconds and thirds and fourths. too many times. i finally asked for the recipe. now we are making our own.
raw cacao maca smoothie recipe:
1 tablespoon raw cacao nibs
2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
1 tablespoon raw maca powder
1 frozen banana
almond milk
1 cup ice cubes
raw agave syrup (to taste - i use quite a bit, but not everyone likes things that sweet)
1/2 teaspoon or so cinnamon
vanilla powder (to taste)
blend everything in the blender. enjoy! and let me know how you like it. i hope it gives you that extra bit of feel good energy we all sometimes need. ;)

yummy! do you know about jinjee & storm the raw family with the many ridiculously gorgeous raw children? they have an amazing daily inspiration email & pear magazine for raw kids? also the raw family (boutzenkos) sends out fabulous newsletters with recipes & stuff. google-able. when i get a chance i'll post all with links. also ani pyo has great raw 5min clips on you tube- we make her california rolls (sesame & almond blended) with a bit of lemon juice & agave or honey. delish!!! her prepbook is huge & exellent.
