we are here in aspen, taking in the snow and the winter chill, drinking hot mugs of yogi tea and basking in snow games. today I am furiously knitting away at one of the hand-made gifts that needs to be finished rather soon and wanted to post the recipe for yogi tea so you might enjoy it, as we are all enjoying it so tremendously out here. so here it is, posted from my iPhone. I hope you enjoy it!
yogi tea
3 quarts water
20 cloves
20 black peppercorns
20 green cardamom pods, crushed
5 sticks of cinnamon
3-5 slices fresh Ginger
bring to a boil and simmer for 20 minutes then allow one black teabag to steep for two minutes. remove teabag and allow the rest of the ingredients to sit for 2-3 hours or overnight, depending on how strong you like the flavor. at this point you can strain the whole mixture into another container (we recycle glass milk jugs for this) and store it in the fridge until you're ready to use it. then, when you're craving yogi tea, you just heat up a little in a pan, add whatever milk and sweetener you like (were using goat milk and honey at the moment) and enjoy! It helps to make up a large batch ahead of time, because everyone really seems to enjoy it and it goes rather quickly. there are all kinds of health benefits to drinking this tea, but I will post about them when I get home in front of my computer with all my books in front of me. In the meantime, wishing everyone well. I hope this iPhone posting works! this is my first time trying it. be well!

sounds like amazing tea! I think I will make some tomorrow!
Hope you are having a wonderful time - let us know when you are back.
x
